Vaccinations for Dogs, Cats & Rabbits
Keeping up to date with regular dog, cat, and rabbit vaccinations is extremely important; not only for the health of your pet but to help keep infectious and life-threatening diseases at bay for the wider pet community.
Vaccinations are also required for travelling abroad, boarding kennels & catteries, and many pet daycare facilities. All our vaccination appointments include a nose-to-tail health check with a vet.
Dog vaccinations
- Dogs are routinely vaccinated against Kennel Cough, Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus & Parainfluenza.
- Kennel cough can be contracted from anywhere an infected dog has been. It is not life-threatening but is highly contagious and unpleasant for dogs.
Cat vaccinations
- Cats are routinely vaccinated against cat flu viruses and feline panleukopenia virus.
- Cats who regularly meet with other cats should also be vaccinated against the feline leukaemia virus. This virus can cause many different illnesses including cancer and is a common killer of cats. Vaccination is the only way to prevent serious illness because no treatment is available.
Rabbit vaccinations
- Rabbits should be vaccinated annually against Myxomatosis and both strains of Viral Haemorrhagic Disease – RVHD-1 and RVHD-2.
- These rabbit illnesses can be easily spread and have a high mortality rate; the best prevention is vaccination.
